PreventiveDentistry

Preventive dentistry focuses on maintaining healthy teeth and gums, stopping problems before they start.

Small visits that prevent big treatments

Most dental problems are painless at the start. Regular check-ups let us find a weak spot in the enamel or early gum inflammation while it is still simple, quick and inexpensive to treat.

What happens at a preventive visit

  1. Conversation first. We ask about any sensitivity, changes or worries since your last visit.
  2. Examination. Teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues are checked, with low-dose digital X-rays if they are due.
  3. Hygiene. Plaque and hardened tartar are removed, then teeth are polished so they feel glassy smooth.
  4. Your plan. You leave knowing exactly how your mouth is doing and when to come back.

Who is it for?

Everyone. Adults usually benefit from a visit every six months. If you have gum disease, diabetes, braces or a dry mouth, we may recommend coming a little more often.
